Controvo

A Decade of 3CX. One Platform Born From Necessity.

Controvo started with a phone call that nearly ended our business.

We've Deployed 3CX Every Way There Is

We've been a 3CX partner and reseller for over 10 years. We've lived through every era of deployment: the early days of local Windows installations on NUCs sitting under desks, the dark times of unreliable internet making VoIP a gamble, hybrid setups that were supposed to be the best of both worlds, and eventually cloud-hosted Linux VMs on AWS and Azure with nothing on-site.

We've seen what works and what fails. Not from reading about it, but from being on the other end of the phone when it breaks.

In 2019, we found our stride. Cloud-hosted, per-extension licensing. Simpler for clients, predictable for us. Growth accelerated. Our client base expanded. And that's when the real problems started.

Growth Broke Our Process

More clients meant more systems. More systems meant more dashboards, more configurations to maintain, more settings to verify manually. New 3CX versions released. New regulations dropped. New management and technical needs arose. Our options were brute-force clicking our way through problems or mangling scripts together trying to keep everything consistent.

We kicked around the idea of bringing on full-time software development to build a management platform for our own use. It was expensive, uncertain, and hard to justify when the existing process "worked" (if you squinted).

And then the phone call happened.

The Call That Made the Decision for Us

A client called about a missing call recording on a phone system that was supposed to have every call recorded. Always. No exceptions.

One of our best engineers had recreated a user's extension during a troubleshooting session and forgot to re-enable call recording. One checkbox. One moment of human imperfection on a routine task.

We got lucky. The missing recording turned out to be a non-issue for the client. We weren't wiped out in an errors lawsuit. But we easily could have been.

That was the day the decision made itself. If one missed checkbox by one of our best people could threaten the entire business, the process was the problem. Expecting human perfection is not a safety net. It is a liability.

So We Built Controvo

We started building a platform designed for the 3CX reseller first. Not a generic RMM with a 3CX checkbox bolted on. A purpose-built tool that understands extensions, trunks, call recording, backups, and licensing at a native level.

No more missed checkboxes

The thing that nearly ended the business. Policy enforcement means one engineer's oversight on a routine task never threatens your company again.

Replace the scripts and the spreadsheets

No more mangling together homegrown scripts or brute-force clicking through settings. A purpose-built platform for the work you were hacking together.

The 50th system takes the same effort as the 5th

Growth stopped breaking our process. Onboarding a new client went from hours of manual configuration to minutes.

Management tools 3CX was never designed to provide

Drift detection, automatic remediation, cross-system templates, threshold-based alerting, and ConnectWise PSA integration. The reseller tools that should exist but didn't, until now.

Where We Are Now

We're launching our pilot program: 20 spots for 3CX partners who want to help shape the platform. Controvo has been running on our own portfolio, catching problems we would have missed and saving our team hours of manual work every week.

We want to see what our fellow 3CX partners think. We built this for ourselves. We're betting other resellers need it just as badly.

  • 10+ years as a 3CX partner and reseller
  • Hundreds of 3CX systems managed in production
  • Every deployment model, from NUCs to cloud VMs
  • Controvo used internally before a single line of marketing was written
